Officially unveiled in February 2011’s Mobile World Congress, the HTC Droid Incredible 2 will be available in the US from Verizon in April or early May, and was recently spotted in Best Buy’s system. Here’s our HTC Droid Incredible 2 review: The device has a 4-inch WVGA TFT display, 768MB RAM and a TI audio chip with surround sound, and it’s powered by a Snapdragon processor. A built-in 8-megapixel camera with dual Xenon flash is a great improvement over the dual LCD flash on the original model.

The capacitive buttons’ labels aren’t painted on the screen and in fact rotate with it, allowing them to be either in landscape or portrait mode, following your physical position. This great little feature adds an even better sense of interaction with the smartphone. Some of the benefits the handset offers are bluetooth and USB connectivity, video playback, video capture (1280×720), radio, accelerometer, compass, instant messaging, voice dialing, voice commanding and recording, navigation and location-based services.

As we’re saying good-bye to the Droid Incredible, the HTC Droid Incredible 2 seems to be ready to take its place. In this HTC Droid Incredible 2 review we’ll go over some of the more important features and specifications. It has the same chip as the HTC ThunderBolt – a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655. Its specs include a capacitive multi-touch screen, Android 2.2 Froyo OS, an auto-focus camera and 720p HD video, dual-microphones for noise cancellation, built-in Twitter, Facebook and MySpace, microSD expansion up to 32GB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm jack. It also features a 1450mAh battery and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing image taker. Resolution is the standard 800 x 480. The Android 2.2 handset will have global capabilities (CDMA and SIM card slot); this is a rumor that has been around since the beginning of 2011. HTC has certainly made up for the lack of a dual-core processor with wireless charging, SRS surround sound and dual-Xenon Flash.

A combination of parts shortage and strong demand stopped the Droid Incredible from getting the attention it should have been given. Now it’s up to the HTC Droid Incredible 2 to keep the ball rolling. More information including an approximate release date and pricing as well as an official announcement is expected once CTIA 2011 starts. We hope our HTC Droid Incredible 2 review has helped you learn more about this impressive new smartphone with great features and capabilities.
